The core idea: heat + steam + soap-and-scrub massage on a heated marble slab. It is a **cleansing ritual**, not a spa treatment. Real Antalya locals still go weekly. The historical ones in Kaleiçi (Sefa Hamamı, Nazır Hamamı) have been operating continuously for 400+ years. The dome is real 16th-century stone; the light comes through star-shaped skylights. ## What to wear (this is the top question) You keep your underwear on. Women wear disposable bikini bottoms provided; men wear the *peştemal* — a thin cotton wrap around the waist. **No one is fully nude.** Sections are typically gender-separated. ## The complete sequence — 90 minutes **1. Changing (10 min).** You get a private cubicle, a peştemal, wooden clogs and a locker key on an elastic wristband. Leave your phone and jewellery. **2. Warming room, *sıcaklık* (15-20 min).** You lie on the *göbek taşı* — a heated marble platform 60 cm high in the middle of the dome. Just relax. Your body temperature slowly rises, pores open. Bring a small bottle of water. This is meditative — don't rush it. **3. Scrub, *kese* (10 min).** An attendant of your gender takes over.
