14 km of rapids through pine-lined gorges, lunch by the river.

Köprülü Canyon is Turkey's rafting capital — a 14-kilometre run of clear grade II–III rapids carved through a pine-forested national park an hour east of Antalya. This full-day trip is the classic Antalya adventure: enough splash and adrenaline to feel like a real ride, gentle enough that first-timers, families and non-swimmers finish grinning. After hotel pick-up from Antalya, Belek, Side or Alanya, you'll drive up into the Taurus mountains along a road that hugs the emerald Köprüçay river. At the launch point, licensed guides fit each guest with helmet, life jacket and paddle, then run a proper safety and paddle-command briefing before splitting groups into 6-person rafts. The 3–4 hour run alternates playful whitewater sections with calm turquoise pools where you can jump out for a swim beneath the Roman-era Oluk Bridge. Waterproof cameras follow each raft, and photos are available at the end for a small extra fee. Lunch is a hearty river-side buffet — grilled chicken, meatballs, bulgur, salads, seasonal vegetables and fruit — served at a shaded restaurant on the bank. Optional add-ons include a canyon zipline, quad safari or tazi jeep tour, bookable on the day. The tour is fully insured, guided in English, Turkish, German and Russian, and includes free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Expect to be back at your hotel by 18:00–19:00 depending on your resort.

FAQ

Do I need to know how to swim?+

No — everyone wears a certified life jacket and helmet, and the guide handles all critical manoeuvres. Non-swimmers do this trip every day.

What's the minimum age?+

Children aged 7 and above may join. Under-7s can enjoy the picnic area and swimming pools at the base restaurant.

How difficult are the rapids?+

Grade II–III — playful with a few splashy sections. It's an adventure, not an extreme run.

What should I wear?+

Swimsuit under quick-dry clothes, water shoes or old trainers, and a dry set for the ride home. Bring sunscreen and a towel.

Can I bring my phone?+

Only if it's in a waterproof pouch. There are safe lockers at the base for phones, wallets and keys.

Are photos included?+

Photographers shoot every raft; digital packages are available at the base for a small fee — no obligation to buy.

Not your extreme white water — this is scenic, fun, and family-friendly. Rapids are class 2, cold water on a 40°C day is heaven. Included lunch was a proper buffet with grilled trout. Kids talked about it for weeks.
