Düden Waterfalls

## Overview Düden Waterfalls is two separate falls — the Upper Düden cave cascade north of the city and the Lower Düden that plunges 40 m off the Lara cliffs into the Mediterranean. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to walk between these areas without rushing; two to three hours if you photograph seriously. ## Best time to visit April–june when snowmelt maxes the flow; avoid august afternoons when the terraces bake. Shoulder-season months (April–May and September–October) combine mild weather with thinner crowds, and the low-angled light in those months flatters every marble surface. ## Photo spots The most rewarding frames are behind the Upper Düden curtain at 10:00 with side light, and the Lower Düden cliff drop from the boat at sunset. Lower Düden: any Lara-bound bus to the Düden Park stop, or a 20-minute Kaleiçi harbour boat trip that passes directly under the falls.
